Civil Wedding Registration

Non-denominational (non- religious) and gender neutral

Civil Weddings are legal and officiated by a Sint Maarten Government official.

Sint Maarten Weddings will provide you with everything needed to register your wedding back home. All your official documents will be returned to you after the wedding.

2 Easy Steps!

Complete your Registration Form
To secure the date, we require a $850.- deposit (PayPal or Credit Card).
This deposit is non-refundable and will be applied towards the final bill.
Send us the following documents:
(at least 3 months prior to your desired wedding date)

An apostille stamps is required for all documents listed below with exception of the passport copies.
For those documents that require a translation, please make sure the apostille is on the ORIGINAL COPY, not the translation.
All Canadian documents require an “Authentication Stamp” from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a “Legalization Stamp” from the Dutch Consulate.

Long Version of Bride and Groom’s birth certificate (Including parents names)
A photocopy of valid passport
Marital status: The couple must present a letter from the Vital Statistics Office, which states they were never married
If divorced: a divorce certificate
If widow(er): a death certificate
All foreign documents have to be translated in Dutch or English
If minors, permission of the parents
Six witnesses if the marriage is performed outside and two if same takes place in the Marriage Hall
(Witnesses can be provided by Sint Maarten Weddings upon request)
Name changes or adoption papers if applicable.

Witnesses

If the wedding is performed at the Marriage Hall, minimum 2 and maximum 4 witnesses are required. Outside the Marriage Hall, 6 witnesses are required. Witnesses must be 18 years or older and can be provided by ‘Sint Maarten Weddings’ if none are available from the bridal party.
